Procedure Description:
Severe sun damage and aging changes on the face can be improved by laser resurfacing.
What To Expect:
Laser skin resurfacing can diminish severe sun damage and aging changes on the face. The outer layers of the skin are removed and new skin is regenerated resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearence.
Preprocedure:
During your pre-operative consultation in our office, Dr. Harvey will take your medical history, perform an examination, take clinical photographs, and recommend and explain options that are appropriate for you. Our Skin Care Specialist, Anne Elterman, RN, may evaluate and recommend care that will optimize your excellent result. Patient Coordinators, Patricia Gottschalk and Mamie Lee, will discuss financial information and assist in scheduling your procedure.
Postprocedure:
Back to work: 2 weeks. More strenuous activity: 4 to 6 weeks. Complete fading of redness: 6 months or less. Return of pigmentation/slight sun exposure: 6 to 12 months.
